Discover the Avoriaz DVA Park : an educational and training area for searching for avalanche victims. Buried transceivers, timed courses, and practical workshops allow you to practice essential mountain safety skills independently!
You can search for up to 5 transceivers within a time limit that you set yourself. The ski patrollers, who are nearby, can also be called upon to help you and better prepare you for your practice.
Location: At the top of Grande Combes, next to the ski patrollers' hut - Arare sector.
Free space, open to all.
Don't forget your equipment: avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe !
At SERMA, we strive to ensure you have the best possible experience on the slopes and that you enjoy yourself to the fullest.
This starts with the basics: understanding how each person's responsibility contributes to the safety and well-being of everyone.
The Slow Cool approach aims to remind people of best practices, not by imposing rules, but by offering solutions in a spirit of kindness.
CHIIIILL, check your insurance and ski with confidence
Our Slow Cool Patrol ski patrollers are true guardian angels.
They are there for everyone in case of emergency or need.
Rescue, emergency care, repatriation... and all of this comes at a price. So it's best to check your insurance policy to avoid any surprises.
If you're unsure or don't have adequate coverage, the best option is to take out Snowrisk insurance directly from the resort when you purchase your ski passes.
CAAAAAALMM, stay cool, check your gear !
The basics. Before you go riding, take out your gear and check its condition:
make sure it's the right size and level for you, not too big or too fancy,
well squared with sharp edges and adjusted bindings,
a helmet that has never taken a blow, adjusted, strap closed.
eyes protected by a pair of suitable sunglasses or goggles.
Equipment OK. What about the sky?
ONE-TWOOOO, warm up, your body will thank you for it
The last step before putting on your skis or strapping on your board: warming up.
A few movements, a few stretches, a few minutes: you reduce the risk of injury and make skiing safer.
Tips for beginners (and those who haven't skied in a long time): take ski lessons! Whether individual or group lessons, there's nothing like a few hours to rediscover or discover new sensations and progress with complete peace of mind.
SLOOOOW DOOOOWN, moderate your speed, extend your session
Not everyone rides like a champion :
Start by not going too fast and adapting your speed to your level.
Then adjust it to the snow conditions and terrain.
Pay attention to your friends and other riders on the slopes, and be cautious when it's crowded.
And slow down in the beginner area, remembering that we all started out that way.
MOVE OVEEEEER, stop at the side of the slope and enjoy the moment
Stop at the side, choose a slope that suits your level, or slow down before an intersection... respect the safety rules.
Reminder :
The skier downhill always has priority. Simple.
The skier behind must adjust their speed and trajectory. Basic.
When overtaking, always leave a margin. And in general, always keep a safe distance around you. Simple.
At intersections or when changing direction, keep your eyes open and look around. Right, left, behind, OK? You can go. Basic.
If you fall, quickly move to the side and stay there if you need to get back up. Simple.
You know the rules.
LIFT YOUR EYEEEEES, look away from the screen, and enjoy the moment!
Smartphones are great. But only during the lift ride.
The rest of the time, keep them in your pocket, firmly closed. With such a magnificent view, it would be such a waste!
This also applies to headphones, earphones, and other music devices.
Open your ears wide.
STAY CLEEEEEAN, the only high is the one you get from the peaks
You don't get behind the wheel when you've been drinking or taking drugs.
Well, it's the same on the slopes.
No crazy stunts, no matter how harmless they may seem.
